1950, in Soestdijk (the Netherlands).
Biography; Gew up in an artistic family, father a prominent painter/stained glass artist/lecturer and mother, a textile artist/lecturer. He received his artistic training from his parents and from Artibus (Utrecht), in stone masonry (Utrecht), in bronze casting (Dalles, USA) and in marble sculpture in Pietrasanta (Italy). He began as a professional artist in 1972 based in Wijk bij Duurstede (Netherlands). Currently his studio based in Capmany (Spain).
Artist Statement; Flowing lines and fluid forms epitomize my work, whether created in stone, or bronze, or glass, or acrylic, or when applied to textiles or painting. For example, the highly polished outer lines of my bronze with its orange/brown patina treated surfaces is inspired by the sunlight reflected from the shimmering water of the grand old Mississipi as it meanders through its landscape. At a cosmic level, I remain in awe of those incredible forces that create the ebb and flow of all water bodies, of the influences of the seasons and the forces of nature that shape our lives. Whether it is in working with age old stone or pouring liquid bronze, my creative process passionately connects me with the essential soul of Mother Earth and all her elements.
